The Animals were one of the most iconic Pop, Rhythm and Blues bands of the 1960’s. They had over 20 Global Top Ten Hits, and remain a seminal rhythm and blues band who still commands great respect.

Featuring two original Members, founding member John Steel on Drums and Mickey Gallagher , who replaced Alan Price in 1965 on keyboards.

With increased capacity of over 800 seats the Ashcroft Theatre will present seasons of plays and musicals as well as being home to local community performances and events.  Seasons of live cinema broadcasts will also feature in the programme.

On Monday 16 September 2019, Dame Judi Dench formally re-dedicated the Ashcroft Theatre at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls to her friend and Croydon-born fellow actress Dame Peggy Ashcroft. The award-winning actress unveiled the People’s Picture, a giant commemorative mosaic by artist Helen Marshall.
