The Crown Prince of Reggae The Musical
Fairfield Concert Hall
Bagga John (BJ) Production and special arrangement with the Dennis Brown Estate proudly presents the world premiere of The Crown Prince of Reggae The Music.
The Crown Prince of Reggae Musical tour coincides with what would be Dennis Brown’s 70th birthday (1 Feb), with February also marking International Reggae Month.
At just 12 years old, Jamaican-born Dennis Brown recorded his first song, "No Man Is an Island". He went onto release over 75 studio albums. We are honoured to bring this musical to UK audiences with full support and collaboration from Dennis Brown’s wife and widow, Mrs Yvonne Brown and family, as we celebrate his incredible legacy and influence on musicians and artists across the globe.
Mrs Yvonne Brown said: “This musical will be a brilliant tribute to my late husband. It will be entertaining, nostalgic and refreshing all in one. Definitely a musical heatwave coming. Get ready! Bless”
Singer-songwriter Dennis Emanuel Brown (1 Feb 1957-1 Jul 1999) left an incredible mark on the music sphere, and fans can relive the life and legacy of the Crown Prince of Reggae through this musical premiere and can expect to hear a plethora of songs from Brown’s extensive catalogue. From international and UK chart-topping hits, including "Money in My Pocket" and "Hear I Come to Promised Land", "Revolution" and the Lovers Rock anthem, "Love Has Found Its Way".
Written and directed by Anton Phillips, Mrs Yvonne Brown and The Dennis Brown Estate as biographical consultants and with music composition by Delroy Murray
