On Saturday 1st July, enter a world of moonlit city streets, rowdy country villages, and elegant palace ballrooms with Orleta, a stellar Polish folk dancing group straight out of South London. Established in 1973, it’s their 50th birthday this year, so they’re ready to celebrate 5 decades in one evening of song and dance at the Ashcroft Theatre. You’ll enjoy scenes and dances from across 10 Polish regions performed by their most experienced ensemble, and their children’s groups will also be getting in on the fun. Returning viewers know what to expect – bold acting, costumes brimming with colour, and a few daring acrobatic stunts. But with several twists in tow, there’ll be plenty to entertain old and new audiences alike.
