As part of this year’s highly anticipated Open House Festival, we invite you to step inside Fairfield Halls and explore one of Croydon’s most iconic cultural venues on Saturday 19 September 2026.

Discover the fascinating history of the building, learn what happens behind the scenes, hear from the team who deliver productions and events, enjoy guided tours, and experience live classical music and other activities throughout the day.

Drop in between 11:00am and 5:00pm to spend time exploring the venue’s stylish foyer and public spaces. Enjoy a drink or a bite to eat while taking in Fairfield Halls’ distinctive modernist architecture and design features.

Aspiring young theatre technicians can register for our FREE Under 16s Technical Workshop (11:15am to 1:15pm) and gain a hands-on introduction to lighting, sound and stage production, some of the essential elements that help bring every performance to life. Participants must be aged 11 or over and accompanied by an adult. SOLD OUT

Discover the technical magic behind live performance with our FREE interactive Over 16s Technical Workshop. Meet Fairfield Halls' expert technical team and gain hands-on experience in lighting, sound and stage production while learning what it takes to bring a show to the stage. Participants must be a minimum of 16 years old. SOLD OUT

Guided tours exploring the venue’s history and backstage areas will take place from 11:30am to 12:30pm and 1:15pm to 2:15pm. SOLD OUT

London Mozart Players (LMP) will present two informal classical concerts at 1:00pm and 2:30pm, alongside an open rehearsal from 11am-12.30pm. Throughout the afternoon, the foyer will also come alive as LMP platform local music and dance groups as part of their community showcase, celebrating Croydon's vibrant creativity.

Marking its 40^th anniversary, Talawa Theatre Company will deliver an engaging theatrical exhibition celebrating its contribution to Black British theatre and showcasing work from the company’s emerging and established artists.

Little ones can sign up for our FREE Drama Class for children aged 4-8 from 11:30am-12:00pm. Packed with stories, games, and confidence-building fun, this is a great introduction for aspiring actors (parental or guardian supervision required). SOLD OUT
