CODA are delighted to return to the Ashcroft Playhouse with Mel Brooks’s dazzlingly entertaining, side-splittingly hilarious and gloriously politically incorrect musical The Producers.
When down-on-his-luck Broadway producer Max Bialystock meets mild-mannered accountant Leo Bloom, they hatch a plan to diddle their little old lady backers out of millions of dollars by producing the biggest flop in theatrical history: Springtime For Hitler!
They seek out the worst script, the worst director and the worst actors. But when the show is a massive hit, Bialystock and Bloom must face the music…
This award-winning musical is fit to burst with unruly characters and show-stopping songs such as I Wanna be a Producer, Keep It Gay, When You Got It Flaunt It, and the immortal Springtime For Hitler.
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe)
With increased capacity of over 800 seats the Ashcroft Playhouse will present seasons of plays and musicals as well as being home to local community performances and events. Seasons of live cinema broadcasts will also feature in the programme.
