“Chinna Kuyil” Chitra, was first introduced to the Tamil industry by world renowned Music composer Illayaraja in the film “Nee Thaana Antha Kuyil” for the song “Poojaikketha Poovithu” in 1985. The title “Chinna Kuyil” (the Little Nightingale) was given to Chitra after her popular song “Chinna Kuyil Paadum Paatu”, from the move Poove Poochudava. The song is one of Evergreen songs of Chitra and audience all over the world request for this song at almost all concerts. A legendary movie Sindhu Bhairavi was released in 1985, in which Chithra sang two memorable songs, Naan Oru Sindhu and Paadariyen for actress Suhasini. With this phenomenal success, Chithra established her musical fiefdom in Tamil Film Music Industry and has rendered thousands of songs, in almost all genres for all the trending Music composers for 40 years, including Illayaraja, A.R.Rahman, Deva, S.A Rajkumar, Vidyasagar, Sirpy, Yuvan Shankar Raja, G.V.Prakash Kumar, Harris Jayaraj, Santhosh Narayanan.
