Trinity Boys Choir was founded over fifty years ago and since enjoys an international standing, providing distinguished treble soloists for professional operatic productions such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Benjamin Britten, and recently for operas at Aix-en-Provence, Opera Comique in Paris, La Monnaie, and other major houses in Germany, Italy, and the USA. The choir sings regularly at the BBC Promenade Concerts, Glyndebourne Festival and Garsington Opera, and was honoured to perform for Her Majesty the Queen at her 80th Birthday Concert.
Concert repertoire is distinctively British, drawing on great choral music of the Renaissance and the 20th century. The treble ensemble of 24 voices also appears alongside the professional tenors and basses of Cirrus Voices to form a full SATB choir.
Trinity Boys Choir has appeared on numerous film soundtracks, including 101 Dalmatians (1996) and Serenity (2019). The CD Missa Dominica was voted May 2018 Recording of the Month by BBC Music. REFUGIUM, with a premiere recording of a work by the present Composer Fellow Graham Lack was a 2018 American Record Guide Critics Choice.
Based at Trinity School, close to the Fairfield Halls, the choir is proud to be part of Croydon’s rich cultural offerings, and to contribute to the musical life of the community.
