Bram Stoker’s classic novel inspires a show that covers the starkest paths of evilness. The myth of Dracula, one of the most sinister characters in universal literary history, is developed now with new conceptual and plastic contributions. The work explores new languages from an imaginative and enigmatic world in a mystical atmosphere full of pain, hallucination and loss.
Cláudia Martins and Rafael Carriço are the directors and choreographers of Vortice Dance Company. Since its creation in 2001 the company has been very popular in Portugal and has presented its performances in stages across all Europe. Soliloquy, Aquarium and TGV-Liege, are some of the titles from work defined by the strong physicality of the performances.

With increased capacity of over 800 seats the Ashcroft Theatre will present seasons of plays and musicals as well as being home to local community performances and events. Seasons of live cinema broadcasts will also feature in the programme.
On Monday 16 September 2019, Dame Judi Dench formally re-dedicated the Ashcroft Theatre at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls to her friend and Croydon-born fellow actress Dame Peggy Ashcroft. The award-winning actress unveiled the People’s Picture, a giant commemorative mosaic by artist Helen Marshall.
