Despite robust measures being in place and the back-up of understudy actors, we are incredibly sad to confirm that some of our Beauty and the Beast cast and crew have tested positive for Covid.
The health and safety of our visitors, performers and staff is our primary concern so we have taken the difficult decision to cancel all remaining performances of Beauty and the Beast. We apologise to everyone this affects.
Steve Turner, BH Live’s Divisional General Manager, the organisation that manages Halls said, “This year’s pantomime at Fairfield Halls has been well received. Customers have been, and continue to be, very supportive of the new measures, wearing face coverings, testing before visiting, and working with the team to ensure there is minimal disruption to everyone’s festive entertainment and enjoyment. We know the news of this cancellation will be very disappointing and we’d like to sincerely thank our customers for their patience and understanding while we contact those who have tickets for the cancelled performances to make alternative arrangements. We send our best wishes to the cast and crew for a speedy recovery.”
Steve Boden, Managing Director for Imagine Theatre, added “We are devastated to have to bring early closure to our fantastic production of “Beauty and the Beast”. The entire cast, crew and venue team have worked tirelessly these past four weeks putting on a production that has entertained thousands of people in Croydon and the surrounding area. With case numbers rising, the safety of everyone is of paramount importance which in turn has led us to closing this production early. We are sorry to disappoint patrons who were due to attend this week and further details will be supplied by BH Live in due course.”
Ticket holders for the cancelled performances will be contacted with options for a credit, refund or to donate the price of your tickets to support the theatre. Please wait to be contacted by our ticketing team from 29th December.
